For the first time, MEDIC Regional Blood Center is partnering with the Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge to encourage people in East Tennessee to donate lifesaving blood.
Thanks to the generosity of the Titanic Museum, anyone who donates blood at any MEDIC blood drive on Wednesday, June 8th, 2016 will receive one free ticket to the award winning attraction.
Donors can give blood at any of the following locations:
MEDIC Knoxville Donor Center – 1601 Ailor Avenue, 8:00am-6:30pm
MEDIC Farragut Donor Center – 11000 Kingston Pike, 6:30am-6:00pm
MEDIC Crossville Donor Center – 79 South Main Street, 8am-4pm
Walmart in Maryville – 2410 US Hwy 411 South, 12pm-7pm
Walmart in New Tazewell – 432 South Broad Street, 12pm-6pm
Hank’s Market in Oak Ridge – 691 Emory Valley Road, 12pm-7pm
Food City in Morristown – 1105 E. Morris Blvd., 12pm-7pm
Seymour First Baptist Church – 11621 Chapman Highway, 12:30pm-6:30pm
Jefferson City Library – 108 City Center Drive, 12pm-6pm
PriceLess Foods in Newport – 208 West Broadway, 12pm-7pm
Donors should be aware these tickets expire June 30th.
Additionally, all donors will receive a MEDIC t-shirt and a coupon for a free Chick-fil-A Sandwich.
This special promotion is just one of several upcoming summer events. Donors are encouraged to give early, so they will be eligible to give later this summer and earn other specials.
Donors can give blood every 56 days.
Several recent traumas, many of which have been covered by local media, have left MEDIC with a lower than expected supply of blood. Historically, summer is a difficult period for donors to make time to give blood. MEDIC is counting on events like these to help remind people of the importance of giving blood. Some blood donation events across the nation often reward their donors with different rewards, such as tickets, free lunches and can even use sticker templates to make celebratory stickers as a way of bringing in more donors.
Because of the Zika Virus, new restrictions are in place on blood donors. If you’ve been out of the U.S. or Canada in the past 28 days, donors can call MEDIC at 865-524-3074 to confirm their eligibility.
