Phlebotomist
  To perform all blood collection processes on donors to enhance the well being of our community by providing safe, adequate and economical supply of blood products.
Must be able to work on average 40-55 hours per week, including early mornings, late evenings and weekends.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:    
  • Always maintain a safe and hazard free work environment by following the policies and procedures of Medic’s safety guidelines and AABB standards.
  • Perform all aspects of blood collection of donors, included but not limited to: maintaining high customer service, verifying all information of donor, drawing blood, and performing aftercare of the donor.
  •  Evaluate potential donor’s eligibility by verification of vein status in both antecubital areas.
  • Perform sterile scrub and venipuncture.
  • Verify correct identification of donor and recheck donor information forms for accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform post phlebotomy care, proper disposition of unit, and give post-care instructions to each donor.
  • Ability to understand and promote all aspects of Medic donor programs, including but not limited to: Medic membership and types of donations
  • Ensure all quality standards are upheld by following all policies of Medic, Medic’s Standard Operation Procedures (SOP), Code of Federal Regulation (CFR), state regulations and AABB 
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service, team work, professionalism and confidentiality 
  • Continuously develop skill sets with attending any of the following: education programs, in-service training, and seminars.
  • Ability to cross train and perform functions of screeners/ interviewers.
  • Adheres to MEDIC’s Customer Service Policy.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
 
Tele-Recruiter - Part Time                         Monday - Friday,  2:00PM - 6:00PM,    20 hours per week
 
Build relationships with our donors by calling them and asking them to participate in a blood drive in their area.  Contribute to a courteous and positive atmosphere by providing excellent customer service at all times.
Duties and Responsibilities:
·      Always maintain a safe and hazard free work
environment by following the policies and procedures of Medic’s safety
guidelines and AABB standards.
·     Build relationships with donors by:
o  Calling current donors and ask them to visit a
drive nearby.
o  Calling current donors during emergency need and
educate them about the importance of their donation.
o  Calling high school donors’ parents as needed to
inform them that their child has signed up to donate blood.
o  Calling first time donors and thank them for
their donation and explain MEDIC’s Membership Program.
o  Calling and thank O Negative donors and explain
the importance of their particular blood type.
·   Consistently demonstrate courteous and positive
behaviors to both internal and external customers.
·    Ability to understand and promote all aspects of
MEDIC donor programs, including but not limited to: MEDIC membership, types of
donations and promotions.
·    Ensure all quality standards are upheld by
following all policies of Medic, Medic’s Standard Operation Procedures (SOP),
Code of Federal Regulation (CFR), state regulations and AABB standards.
·    Demonstrate a high level of customer service,
team work, professionalism and confidentiality.
·    Continuously
develop skill sets with attending any of the following: education programs,
in-service training, and seminars.
·    Adheres to
MEDIC’s Customer Service Policy.
Education:
High School Graduate or GED equivalent.
Experience:  
Basic computer experience, familiar with Microsoft office suite. Prefer health care

 Driver-Interviewer, Mobile Units
 
To provide safe travel for our mobile staff and a comprehensive
and customer oriented screening of all donors to enhance the well being of our
community by providing safe, adequate and economical supply of blood products.
Must be able to work on average 40-55 hours per week, including early mornings, late evenings and weekends.
Duties and Responsibilities:
·   Always maintain a safe and hazard free work
environment by following the policies and procedures of Medic’s safety
guidelines, AABB standards and OSHA regulations.
·    Operate mobile buses in accordance with DOT regulations
and TN State laws.
·    Maintain all required certifications required by
DOT, OSHA and company safety programs.
·    Perform required before, during and after “user
maintenance” and provide required reports.
·   Maintain and protect all property entrusted to
you in excellent condition.
·    Verify correct identification of donor,
accurately complete donor information form and obtain informed consent.
·    Perform all necessary screening functions
included but not limited to:
o  Screening/interviewing of donors through
regulated questionnaire,
o  Obtain pulse count, blood pressure, temperature
and perform hematocrit level test for physical eligibility requirements,
o  Complete proper consultation with designated
personnel to finalize eligibility assessment, and,
o  Correct assessment of donor eligibility to
donate including explanation of deferral if required.
·     Consistently perform self checks of
documentation for errors and omissions related to the eligibility requirements.
·     Assist with maintenance of donor files, and
orientation and training of new personnel.
·    Ability to understand and promote all aspects of
Medic donor programs, including but not limited to: Medic membership and types
of donations.
·    Ensure all quality standards are upheld by
following all policies of Medic, Medic’s Standard Operation Procedures (SOP),
Code of Federal Regulation (CFR), state regulations and AABB standards.
·    Demonstrate a high level of customer service,

Education:
High School Graduate or GED equivalent.
Experience:  
Must have CDL license, class B or higher with Air Brake
endorsement.  At least 1 year experience
with large truck/ RV/ School Bus. Basic computer experience; familiar with
Microsoft office suite. Prefer health care experience.
 
 
 
Director of Marketing and Public Relations
  
Direct management of MEDIC’s public relations/communications/marketing
programs, including planning, production, and implementation.  Advise senior managers on communications
issues which affect or may influence MEDIC’s relationships with the public
 
 Education:  
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with demonstrated experience in communications required.
Experience:
Knowledge or experience in creative writing and design, journalism, public relations,
promotion, advertising, social media, website, print media production, and
public speaking desirable.
 
 
 Product Services Supervisor
 
Responsible for supervision of employees and blood production within hospital services and component lab to ensure the well being of our community by providing safe, adequate and economical supply of blood products.
 
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in management or related field
required. Medical Technologist (MT) certification preferred.
Experience:
At least 3 years supervisory experience. Excellent verbal
and written communication and organizational skills. Basic computer experience,
familiar with Microsoft office suite. Prefer health care and/ or blood banking experience.

  

Laboratory Supervisor

Coordinates the efforts of laboratory team members in the
efficient performance of all laboratory tests and special procedures necessary
for processing donor blood and components and/or patient samples.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology (MT) or
equivalent. State of Tennessee License as a Medical Laboratory Supervisor
required. Professional registry license preferred.
Experience:  
Two (2) to four (4) years of Blood Banking experience
required. Basic computer experience, familiar with Microsoft office suite. Organizational
and time management skills a must.  Excellent
verbal and written communication skills a must.
 

 

 

Financial Assistant I

This position is responsible for various general accounting and administrative support. The hours are part-time
24-28 per week, scheduled 3 to 4 days per week. 
Education/Experience:
Associate Degree in Accounting or 2-5 years experience within an accounting position preferred.
