While the Tennessee Volunteers are preparing to take on the Florida Gators on September 26th, the competition among fans of both teams is already heating up.

Beginning Monday, September 14th, blood donors in Knoxville and Gainesville will be competing to see who can collect the most blood to help their community blood centers.

On the field, the Gators enjoy a 10-game winning streak, but when it comes to blood donations, the Vols have been winning since 2009. This year, MEDIC is hoping to win on and off the field. To do that, hundreds of donors will need to roll up their sleeves and donate blood at one of our community blood drives:

To thank those for participating in this year’s event, all donors will receive a special edition UT/UF 2015 t-shirt and coupons for a free small-one topping pizza from Papa John’s, a free small Petro from Petro’s Chili and Chips, and a free appetizer from Texas Roadhouse.

Additionally, all locations on Thursday and Friday (except Crossville and on UT Campus), will offer free PSA tests for all male donors. PSA tests are one of the best ways doctors can determine your risk for prostate cancer.
